TRD Pro Grille for $140?

Ok I bought from trust-autoparts so we’ll see how it looks when it comes. Worse case I can tape it up and paint it

Edit: Ordered mine on Friday and it shipped from Atlanta today, arriving (to Nashville) tomorrow. So we'll see soon enough!

 

FWIW...ive had the fake Chinese Ebay grill for 6 months. Looks and feels good as new. That said, believe you me...there is no reason to buy the OEM one at almost 3 times the cost.

 

Just ordered the 2 piece from Yan-linm for 155 CAD. Already eager to get it installed

 

You know what, I highly agree with you. I’m an OEM type of guy when I need to be, but $300-450 for a piece of plastic? Forget it! For example, I got OEM TRD PRO taillight housings because why spend half as much on knock offs now and risk condensation? You’ll end up getting another pair of knock offs, which will put you at the same price of have just gotten oem in the first place, or going oem and adding the cost of the first pair of knock offs to the whole picture...not worth it when you start thinking like that...at least these will last just as long as OEM, and if not, at least long enough that if I had to get another Chinese grill, I’ll still come under OEM price of one...chew on this, I found out that it only costs $10-$15 to make each Chinese grill, so they’re already making a killing, imagine the dealers margin, they’re making a slaughter...some OEM selling price points just don’t make any sense! Thank God for the Chinese. Hooray for communism! (Just not in my land lol)

 

My box from trust-autoparts (eBay) arrived yesterday via UPS from Atlanta but was just the grill. The letters (one piece lettering) arrived today via USPS from CA. All looked perfect except for the letter mounts had a break in the bracket from shipping in a USPS mailer... debated having them send me another but it secures in with 4 screws and looks SO much better than the stock cheese grater on my OR! Fit and finish were perfect all around, no broken tabs and all lined up perfectly. Would be really hard to tell the difference in OEM... very happy with the $120 purchase!

Letters required no taping/painting/epoxy and the color looks very close if not exact to the OEM ones. Perhaps slightly more glossy but again very hard to tell.

Similar surround gap others have noted but there was also a slight gap I noticed on my OEM cheese grater as well. I may put some stripping in there at some point but I'll probably just ride with it as is.

 

I did a thing... i used the 150$ grille, excelent quality and super happy how it came out.

Probably a little overly OCD of me, but I do wish the lettering was a bit lighter to better match the SSM paint on the truck. As is, grill looks great and fit and finish of the letters is great as well but I'd like to potentially throw some vinyl over the letters to lighten it up so it better pops vs. being drowned out by the lighter color silver on my truck. Hard time picking the RIGHT vinyl though.

Who on here has done this with your sky silver truck with a shade lighter on the letters? I see lots of cement and MGM color matched on eBay but don't want to throw away $20 to get the same color I have...

Bought mine on page 4. It is the 2 piece with silver letters and still looks great after 6 months. Paid $140 from one of the first Chinese sellers.

 

If anyone is looking for a OEM TRD pro grille, I have one, plus Garnish. $385 for the grill and $54 for the garnish.

 

To those concerned about the "gap". I was at a dealer today helping my bud pick out his tacoma and I went up to multiple pros with the gap, so its normal. They all had it.

Anyone have any pics of the turbo silver on a SSM Taco? My grill came with what looks like vinyl but it's in a darker cement color that really gets washed out with the lighter color of the truck.

 

Does anyone know a good source for the 2 piece grill? I looked back and a lot of them are shut down listings.

going from painted black stock grille to the $88 china pro grille isn't much different but i like the pro more for sure.
