OK well i'm really excited and today I placed my order for a 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro.
I'm looking for Canadian answers as we all know what the US is getting but TRD Pro's have not always been the exact same in Canada.
    • Will the Desert Air Intake be an option or are all Canadian ones going to have to have it. (I do not want it)
    • Will Canadian model also get the JBL?
    • Any chance they put Android auto as we can't use the intune stuff in Canada
    • Will it have a Sunroof/Moon roof
    • Will it still be a double cab shortbox? I have stated it must be or I will not except it
    • When do dealers start see spec for them in Canada
    • Is the TRD Performance Air Intake system any good as it's a reusable filter it seems like it might be good but will still take a long time to pay off
    • Do you get any Bed Cleats or do you have to buy them?
    • Any other dealer options I should look at once we know I Will get one
Then one of the first things I need to add is rack sliders but close to Ontario makes or has them.

Now the wait oh the wait

The US barely has info on what the pro actually will get besides a few pictures showing the ET snorkel lol.

Until late September you won't know. Even then might be even longer.
If you're in southern Ontario, you can get RCI sliders through CT Motorsport.

Highly doubt much will change from the 2018 to 2019

Are you planning on modifying a lot?
Could be worth getting an off road instead price difference is huge and mechanically they're identical besides suspension

If it doesn't come with cleats I have lots for sale. Those and the bed rails for the forward end of the bed.

Set of 4 Cleats is $40 plus shipping. I think I have the rail at $30 plus shipping. Send me a PM with your postal code and I can figure out the cost.

Well could not help myself and stopped at my dealer. they are telling me it's sounding like the Snorkel and or Desert air intake sound like it will not be an option. Well for me this is a deal breaker as it will make it over 6'1" at least from the looks of the picture it looks to be 4"-6" over the roof. The other facts like snow and ice storms don't seem like they would do well.

Please tell me they can make it an option and not a must have oh please

I just did a pre-order for a 2019 and the snorkel is definitely an option. I could care less about a snorkel, and it will cost more. The suspension is the same, the TRD on the skid plate is red, but JBL comes standard with the Pro. It's all on the Toyota web site: https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/trdpro/

My dealer in Roswell, NM is close to San Antonio, so my sale rep just called and asked. July 25 is the last day of production for the 2018 Pros, then they switch over to the 2019s, but all they do is install the newer skid plate, and the new JBL Nav/radio system. That's it. How much more it will cost is, as yet, unknown. Probably another grand if you don't get the snorkel.

I'll be interested to see how many snorkeled Pros we see on the road.

FYI, the reason I'm getting a Pro is the ACC only came with the AT, which I really do not like. Luckily the trade-in from my dealer is fair, I lost some on the upgrades, but I'll remove some of them before trading.

the TRD snorkel is so ugly and if the ram head isn't removeable ya snow can be an issue with them.
you usually need to turn them around in snow and then can't go faster than 80km from what I've read.

Alternative if its removable is run a pre filter like I have.

TRD one is way too high though it looks dumb. I know the idea is to have it as high as possible for water but lets be real here, once the water is deeper than your tire you're already risking floating and water coming in other places. I've gone through water that deep its fucking scary.

Even in the dust aspect its really not going to do much, if you're behind others you're getting lots of dust best bet is run prefilter.

I cant imagine how much more the Pro is going to be now. And the suspension it comes with is really not worth the price tag lol.

Yes the US will have it as an option now I just got word from local dealer and other internet dealers in Canada that it's not an option every 2019 TRD PRO in Canada will have it no choice
this really sucks as such I'm going to have to pass on it even though I so wanted the Tacoma but guess I will be moving to ZR land oh well guess at one point I will get used to the dash lol

2016 we didn't even get a DCSB off road only Access cab.

or just get an off road?

aside from suspension its the exact same thing. mechanically and you can swap in Fox suspenison thats better than the TRD Fox stuff for cheaper, and actually have a lift.

I would wait, because dealers generally don’t know anything.

multiple dealers here in Ontario told me the off road and sport were the same when I was buying mine lol.
    They're idiots

Unless you're at a dealer that knows trucks and doesn't just sell camrys and corollas the sales reps are all idiotic cunts.

Yes i'm in no rush so will wait until they can really look at it. very hard to find a real dealer that really know them

So fingers still crossed as I have wanted one and saved for it a long time and this is as close as it's come to being the one that I want. up until recently we would never get DCSB Auto

Let me ask this question what is the risk if I get this truck with the darn snorkel and have the snorkel removed and the fender replaced painted and put back on and then put back stock air intake?
Yes it would be a cost on an already over priced truck but wow I like this truck.

No risk. Actually if you can find someone with a non snorkel 3rd Gen Tacoma in the same colour that wants your snorkel you could just swap the panel and other snorkel associated equipment to his truck and vice versa for the non snorkel panel and associated equipment. I wouldn’t try to talk a dealer into this though because I can almost guarantee their going to double or triple charge you for doing the same thing to one of their own trucks in stock.

I know this because ultra conscious big spenders will often buy a spare fender to cut up when they do their snorkel install rather than just cut the one that’s on their truck already lol.
