Just finished picking up a bumper for the Powerwagon in Flagstaff. This is the first time Ryan’s truck has been victimized...

So I drove from Phoenix to Expo last Friday following John and llibrm in John's rig and me in my truck, both second gen tacos. We stopped to fuel up near flag and he had used 18.2 gallons of fuel and me 9.0 gallons, we both drove about 72 mph most of the way when not in traffic. He was pulling his trailer and was at full weight as well. We both have non stock gears (me 4.56, it think he is 4.88?) My truck (auto trans.) stayed in 5th gear (2500 RPM) except the steepest hills where it went to 4th at 3400 rpm. With the RTT up on top I was satisfied with the performance. I just wish I could have the sway bar on for highway travel.

I bet the 3rd gen trucks can get there with less fuel, but can they carry all the weight up hills as well?

Anyone know how closures look south of Greer? Was thinking of trying to find Pacheta Falls with my kid next Thursday.

    Good catch.

Can’t imagine it being a good get away rig. It’s big and slow. But at least it had icon suspension.

Hey now. I went to work 630-1030 today. Picked up Ryan from the bank once he sold the Lexus. I only had a 3.5 day weekend but he had 4 days. I’m also off Friday-Monday this week.

    They're not attached, are they?

If you can handle them free of the grille that's easy DIY territory. Get yourself a sharp exacto and masking tape, all you have to do is trim the masking tape using the edge as a guide (don't dig in obviously, but you can lean the knife against the letter for a perfect cut. Rattle can red and you're good to go my friend. Hell if you are a steady hand kinda guy you could probably hand-paint it with a brush and no masking.

4 cylinders the answer is a categorical nope.

Funny enough though my taco put in something on the order of 23 MPG on the up and back, even with the whole screaming along in 3rd to maintain 75.
