I've thought about it, but its no longer just up to me lol (getting married this year). My one big hesitation with AZ is the heat...I loathe extreme heat. I live for overcast, cool days...and I'll take rain over hot sunshine any day. The northwest is calling me the most, and my fiancé is on board with us doing it eventually. Some of my family has already moved up to Oregon and some of hers is planning to eventually.

I lived in Portland for a short while as a kid and loved it, but thinking back it was still a pretty large city and I'd like to get away from that if possible. My career though (commercial photography) limits me to large metropolitan areas for the most part, but I'm open to a career change eventually.

I will say that Flagstaff has intrigued me, from what I hear it's nothing like the rest of AZ as far as the heat goes due to it's elevation.

I remember reading somewhere on here that you can use a longer wiper on the drivers side. Anyone know what the length is? Stock is 17", I had an extra 22" blade in the shop and it went off the window a little

Flag is really nice, always reminded me of the Lake Tahoe area. They just need a nice big lake

That's what I should've done originally. Got impatient and got the AutoZone replacement. Dorman I think?

Maybe, but most everything Autozone sells is Duralast. I'd be pretty surprised if it were Dorman.
I did the cadillac alternator swap with a duralast unit. Good so far.

Chances are it could have been a Dorman in a Duralast box, the whole duralast brand is just reboxed lowest tier other stuff

Basically yes. They take brand name failed alternators and rebuild them.

Well not lowest tier. Just depends. Most of them are rebuilt failed ones. At Least thats what their class told me.

For some parts there is only one rebuilder, like I know if I get a durlast thermostat it's gonna be a Stant because that's just who makes thermostats. But if I get an alt I know it isn't going to be a nice unit from Denso (their rebuild division) or a Bosch factory rebuild. It'll be some one hung lo offshore cheapo because that's what the Duralast price point is setup to provide you

Bosch does (as of recent) make their ignition components. So I guess that's good.
And the cad alternator I bought had a lifetime warranty and a 20% employee discount, so I couldn't pass it up. The unit I just replaced with the cad alt was some non-denso thing, but it lasted a good 4 years (still working) so it was alright in my book. I suppose everyone's mileage varies though.

Mounted an antenna - no drilling, yet. Cable is routed along floor trim inside and out the back. There's a plug, I assume for some type of cable routing, maybe for a break controller for a trailer? I dunno..
Routed the cable through the gap in the trim around the rear window. Much better than what I had originally done.

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up. This is a temp solution for a trip I'm taking this weekend. I'm planning on punching a hole in the roof an mounting a new antenna that I can unscrew. This one is a pain to detach.. Not a fan of keeping the antenna up all the time.
