@Blackdawg you'll no doubt be glad to know I'm trying a steering column gauge pod. Flexpods don't fit Tacomas before 01 so I had to use their custom one that you drill and position yourself. Looks nice though, let's hope it isn't in my way haha.

I couldn't bring myself to drill my dash so I just used double sided mounting tape on the bottom of my AFR gauge pod, lol. Holds really well too, had it out on the trail last weekend and it didn't budge at all.

The steering column cover is like $10 used so if I somehow royally fuck it up it's no biggie. But yeah I don't think I'd drill the dash, that's harder to replace.

No, it looks just like the small connector that your Lexus has. I thought about taking the Rav clockspring but I might just end up making a custom connector.

flexpod? is that the one from URD?

They make one for 96-02 4runners too. Wonder if that one would fit better.

I figured you could buy the tacoma one for the 01-04 and just drill two holes in the plastic. Or is there no bolts right there?

yeah it's hard to find a good spot to mount both gauges side by side...someone suggested mounting the AFR gauge down low so it's less distracting but I figure that would make it harder to monitor visually while driving, not to mention I don't want to have to look in two separate places to see how my AFR is corresponding to my boost...all while trying to maintain focus on the road, lol. Keeping the two together up on the dash or on the steering column makes the most sense IMO.

Uh yeah URD sells them but only for second gens, CravenSpeed actually makes them but they don't make them for our tacomas because we don't have the clearance or the scresholes for it.

    see my edit above.

They make it for the 3rd gen 4runner and 01-04 tacomas..https://www.urdusa.com/flexpod-gauge-mount-tacoma-2001-2004/

as i said above, figured you could just drill holes in the plastic to make it fit fine.

Didn't really want to fight with it since theres no structure there on our clamshells and theres less clearance. The custom one (Bellmont) looks nicer too once it is all fastened down.

Worked some on my rear bumper. Got one D-ring welded on and the other tacked. Also got one end cap tacked up. New license plate lights should be here tomorrow. All thats left is the tube steps and hitch receiver. 0522182013a.jpg

Finally got my AEM AFR and boost gauges. Those will be going in sometime this week. No more relying on the scanguage and URD piggyback for numbers. Weld in bung has to go before the cats correct?
