I like that arb plug kit. Is that a little black jar of chemical/rubber cement? Of not, i would get a small can. It helps the plug slip in there and then you can slice off the end clean with a small razor blade. Use a match or lighter to cook the glue down and it hardens up nicely. At work we found that if you don't cook it for a few seconds then the plug can slip back out..

I always used the rubber plug/patch combo don't really like plugging like this as this plug style wicks water and gets moisture into the belt pack and can cause separation of the belts and tire failure (I've seen it happen). This is for emergency use only. That jar is just a jar of Vaseline for all intents and purposes same use as what you are saying for the patch/plug cement.

Do you think cooking the glue down could help seal out the water? It kind of "cauterizes" it. We've been doing plug style repairs for a while w/ no issues.. just a thought..

No as these plugs are made of like a cotton rope, if you can completely seal this rope forever then it won't be an issue but I haven't seen or know of a way to do that. The rubber patch/plug repair is a a far superior repair and you can charge quite a bit more to do the repair. It isn't all the time I have seen it a few times. Rarely ever did I have a customer that I could track for yrs and yrs to see how often and if it did it everytime. In my years of turning wrenches the only people I have yrs of history with are family and a few customers who followed me wherever I went.

Much. Not yet still will have to tub the firewall, regear, body lift fender hackery. But yep slowly going to start the mods to meet that end result.

Ahh.. our plugs are rubber. I would be skeptical of a cotton plug too

Finishing up making the body lift and will install it prior to the relocate installation. Then I'll do the fender hackery and some other minor massaging of the wheel wells. Then comes the tubbing. Finally the gears and then new "off-road" only wheel and tire set up. While this is going on I'll be armoring up as well, getting tired of being hesitant and not as ballsy unarmored.

Yeah these have tar or something all over them but are really just a sticky rope plug of sorts. Once the tar or sticky stuff wears away you can see the rope. But I have certificates for my tires from Discount tire so if I plug them then I'll get a new one.

Got this in the mail and the ARB tire deflator. Time to get my bags out and really work on a comprehensive took kit to go into the truck.

Yesterday's trip to URE photo cred to @ActuallyaTaco and a couple by me

Preface the images I got from Adam are sized weird I have no clue why they are so small but the regular sized images are on the URE thread pg. 64

    No I'm not really worried
    42362702462_5196345358_k.jpg 41689415684_5144d42df0_k.jpg
Got high centered on the Trans crossmember
    41689406464_c13f36901c_k.jpg

So I had to get pulled off then see first pic on both rocks at the same time do it for the Gram pose!
    28539502218_60b87b2917_c.jpg
The little one was the instigator in me splashing through all the mud puddles then Adam said he'd take a picture. Oh and I left one of the rear windows open accidentally so the mud coming in scared her and may have a little mud to clean up on the inside but not too bad.
