Getting worried...

hi, I’m new here... I bought my Tacoma trd off road almost 3 months ago. I bought a Tacoma because of their good reliability reputation. I joined the forum as soon I bough it. Since then I ll have to say that worries me how many owners complain about the quality of these vehicles... I’m starting to wonder if I made a bad buy.

 

Don’t listen to these weirdos, the people on this site are such a small percentage of owners and I’d assume, like you, the majority didn’t know they had “issues” until the got on this site.

 

People will complain about anything. I wouldn’t go by that alone.

Fuck em. Probably plants from other manufacturers paid to delude the brand, or stupid idiots who can’t tie their shoes, or both.

 

Toyota has sold more Tacomas in the last few months than they ever have before. Ever. Since 1995. They are killing it in sales this year.

 

You know when you are watching Planet Earth and they are showing spiders and stuff, then that 1 hair on your leg shifts and you jump up thinking it’s a spider but nothing is there.

That’s pretty much how the complaint threads are on this forum.

Tacoma owners are whiny, don't worry, they are good trucks, it will be reliable and hold its value like a mofo.

 

Welcome to the forum. Toyota sells about 20K Tacomas a month. A few hundred post here at any one time in the 3rd gen forum. Hardly anyone posts when something goes well. Most everyone with a problem posts something. My point? It only seems like a lot of people post about problems.
In addition, several who don't even own a 3rd gen Tacoma post here about problems.
I wouldn't worry. I don't worry, plus, it's only a vehicle. Not a life or death thing, or a serious problem or an illness or getting evicted or losing a job or... it's only a truck, and a good one at that.

 

If I joined TW a before I'd bought my 17, there is no way I would have gotten rid of my cramped 09 for a turd gen. Although I do miss the 09, along with other old vehicles, glad it worked out this way.

 

Makes me want to start a "What worked on your third gen today thread."

 

100% agree with this. no matter the make brand or type on anything seems everyone has issues with there vehicles and other stuff. Nothing is perfect ! Chances are you will have some issues of some sort but that is with everything. These trucks as many others and other vehicles are good and just enjoy your vehicle and things do go wrong and always have Now we all just get on line and see it all the time because of connectivity to everyone now
