Area is nice if you want property and literally relax once getting home. Sunrise and sunset every day on the interstate along with everyone else making the hike. Lots of miles and not MPG friendly for the Tacoma but once you get home its all worth it.



Lots of hidden gems in the area to explore and experience.

NOVA thread had a mentioning of someone wanting to go to Peters Mill on Sunday.. never been off roading and would like to try stuff out on the Taco.

 

I got some family in chester gap been to front royal quite a bit.. floated the Shenandoah river a few times on tubes also nice area down that way..cheers

 

Tubing down the river is fun when you go in at the Boat Landing in Shenandoah Farms Boat Ramp. Get some tubes for 5$ at Walmart and have a good time floating down the river.
The River park near Chester Gap is really nice also.

 

We dont need more people moving here bro. Stop posting about the local gems and spots lol

 

Real estate taxes... like WTF really? Feel like I pay more for living in the boonies than I paid when doing the city dweller stuff!

25mph speed limits? You can drive faster everywhere else.

Snow? Nova gets 4 inches in the forecast and we get burried with 2.5x that amount.....

What else am I missing?

 

When you lose power, its for DAYS.

Major internet provider is century link. That says it all.

Grocery store is 35 minutes minimum from area.


8 miles to closest gas station.

Tourists.


Walmart is 45 minutes.

No aftermarket friendly shops. No gun stores.

Personal property tax is higher than fairfax county.

Bears.

Lots of bugs.

Views are great, when its not flooding the mountain tops from rain. Which then causes you to drive through clouds.

Ahh yeah definitely don't speed here or decide to fly past someone who is already speeding across double yellow solid by going into the opposite lane of traffic. Police will wait for you just outside of the town limits... True story =)

lots of water as usual. Need a backhoe this time to make a water diversion project and dig up the yard.

 

I'm looking for rentals in the area but am struggling to find any with garages in my price range. I really don't want to give up my garage space!
