I used the spray. Luckily I had cardboard on hand that I used to catch some drips before they touched anything below and to smear it a little. That stuff bubbles up and drips easily but it dries fast and I was able to keep it in check with painters tape (planning for contingency is a crucial step although the drips I caught first were luck) and if you get the brackets on before it dries (not an issue at all) it seals nice and clean. The only problem I would have with the tape is it’s not sealing the exposed metal from behind. The paint goops up in there.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
If the current trend continues, Taco owners with manual transmissions may do pretty well regarding resale value. They may be collector's items in the future.

Of course, by the time I'm ready to trade in my 2017, my knees will probably be so bad that I won't care that I can't get another manual.

Just finished spraying some dry lube on the leaf spring pads to kill the suspension squeak. Super easy with a HF jack and corded impact driver and a pry bar.

We'll see how long it lasts. Quiet as a mouse at the moment.

It'll slow them down at least. I've only locked my tailgate a couple times. Too much of a hassle. Should be tied to the door locks from the factory.

I got $23,500 when they totaled my 2011 4X4 Base Model DC. Tacomas definitely hold their value.
I was speaking of collector value. Appreciation not depreciation for vehicles with very low production numbers. Demand vs supply. The bottom line is the fewer there are of something the more someone may be willing to pay for it.
Who would have thought barbed wire would be collectable?

Removed that annoying "Dealers Tag" from my tailgate!
Took me awhile because each letter and symbol along with their design and Web address were all separate characters applied the same way graphics are.

I guess they didn't want it removed!
    To that I say :brianr:

I make them remove them after we've agreed on a final price. Did it on my last two vehicles. I have them remove pin stripping also if there is any. I also removed the license plate ring in front of them when i bought my Hyundai Santa Fe back in 04. Was kinda funny to me.

Didn't think of it at the time. I'll remember that in the future. God help 'em if they stick another one on when I bring it in for my 10k check.
