ya I agree they are at a point that Toyota was at, but the difference is Japanese to Korean quality.

That's the dumbest reason I've ever heard. Have you driven one? They're put together quite well and have a solid engine and power train.

^See my answer to the previous quotation cause it applies here too and I'm too lazy to copy and paste it below. Which is odd cause in the time it takes me to type this I could have done it in 3 mouse clicks.

But this way is more in tune with my sarcastic and prickish nature.

I have driven kia's not the brand new ones but a couple years old, they were cheap and i mean CHEAP, the fucking thing clunked and clanked every little bump we hit, not to mention you could just tell the cheap quality put into the interior, the new kias that have came out look at lot more promising. Still I have known many people that have owned kias and its a good thing they have a good warranty cause they are always in the shop.

There's a couple Tacoma lemons too.

Go stop in a Hyundai dealership and peek in a new Elantra.

I have to agree that older Kia's did not have the fit and finish American automobile afficiando's are used to seeing. But...that being said, my wife and I have recently owned two Sorento's. We originally bought a 2006 Sorento EX fully loaded and it was very, very dependable and had a nice build quality. This year, due to a new addition to our family, we opted to trade it in for the new 2011 Sorento EX. Let me tell you that it is one hell of a ride. Solid build quality and damn powerful and fast! While Kia may have had some very crude beginnings, their newest vehicles aren't anything to scoff at. Anyone who does surely has some bias left in them from an experience of riding in one built a decade ago. If you doubt that, take a 2011 Sorento EX V6 for a drive. It'll change your mind.

The head designer at Kia came over from Audi.. was responsible for the direction Audi has taken over the past years.

Great things are coming for the Korean automakers.. now if only they would get into the compact truck market.. will give Toyota a run for its money I'm sure.
