When I built mine I did the inside of the box 4’ so I could use it as a good utility trailer when not camping. It’s 53” wide measured from the outside of the frame side to side

Nice a little dual purpose.... I looked up hubs for the axle and they are about $50 each so for another $20 i can get a new axle and hubs... But if the axle will work then i can save $20.

I have a line on a couple wheels for $40. Still looking around though...

Yeah at that point it’s almost be worth getting the new axle.

Yea but if your axle works and we can get TW express to deliver then that $20 would pay for the rear LEDs...

I figured i would move this to here...

I will check them out and see what they have for my trailer. Not sure if i will need electric brakes though. What is the weight limit that requires electric brakes? I just need to get the tires outside the frame so i can get larger tires and tow faster than 65mph

When i towed the trailer from dallas to canton i didnt even feel the trailer. And it tracks very well.

Legally you do not need them but both me on 35s and the trailer loaded it’s night and day with the brakes on there. Going through Colorado and the mountains I had no issues with the truck brakes since I put more power to the trailer to help slow me down.

Check your state vehicle code. The limit here is 1500 lbs. The dry weight of the trailer was specifically pegged at a bare bones 1499 from the maker to avoid this. Wet and geared up for a big trip (plus other as-built options), it's probably 1750. My 01 V6 manual had no issues (except for maybe very strong headwinds and uphill gradient...FU US 6 in Utah between Green River and Soldier Summit). I strongly doubt your trailer will be required to have them, nor need them with your 2nd gen.

New wheels & tires are ready for the trailer!! Still need that wheel (@Tundra2Play ) from @ETXTacoma So I can mount that 3rd tire as a spare. Also looking for a cheap basket rack to put on top of the trailer.
    • 17" wheels - Width: 7.5", Offset: +18mm, Backspacing: 5", Hub Bore Diameter = 106mm

Just ordered the new trailer axle!

Cabin exterior is 48" wide but i have to order a 64" long hub-face axle to to fit this +18mm offset and have a 2" gap between the cabin and tires! 6" to the out side of the tire!

    Couple updates on the trailer....

    • New 3500lb axle installed
    • 17" tundra wheels on 265 70 17 KO2s installed.
    • old cabinets ripped out
    • cardboard cabinets mocked up on the inside rear wall and above the head on the front wall.
Got a huge lift. Its leaf over axle right now, thinking about going leaf under axle to drop it about 3"

Thanks! I should be building the fender flairs for them soon. Going with square over the rounded ones.
