You can use the map on that site to look at trails around Steamboat. It has photos and descriptions etc. Steamboat is beautiful, have fun!

We’ll get there on July 7th-13th. Most of my family will be coming in from SoCal, wife and I from Cleveland, Oh.

My wife's uncle went to Steamboat for a vacation 40 years ago. Still is out there, now comes back to New England for vacation for a month during the summers.

Don't know much about the trails around there but if you want a nice relaxing cheap afternoon activity hit up Strawberry park hot springs.

Edit: You'll also get about an 8 min off road adventure on your way up to the springs.

Salt N Lime has good Mexican food.

There's some pretty good trails within an hour of town. I'd recommend grabbing a motor vehicle use map from the forest service and pick a road. You're not going to find anything too difficult. I'd start by heading up CR129 towards Clark. Lots to explore around Hahns Peak.

Remind me closer to your arrival and I'll see if I can join you on a couple trails.

This trailhead is about 10 minutes from downtown:

And this one about 45 minutes.
