Ain't that the truth. The wife has been saving 'projects' for me for our new place. We don't move in for 2 weeks and she's already got my weekends booked till September lol

Yota243, the boxes are really not that hard to make. Check out “bandsaw boxes” on YouTube.

@yota243 - Like everything, it just takes a little practice. I started by making storage cabinets and stands for my shop. If they looked crappy, that was ok. Give it a try, if I can do it, anyone can.

Beautiful thing about bandsaw boxes is their abstract form requires no measurements to make the drawers fit perfectly
Glue up some stock or use a solid block, trace a pattern or freehand it, then cut glue sand finish :)
After a few tries you’ll be cranking them out lol

I assume the name implies a bandsaw is required...

Yes. With a skinny blade for curves and a resaw blade for the big cuts
    Also will need a fence.

Do an image search on Google for some other examples. I have seen some that use some metal bars in front that look real nice and will let your pup see out a bit better.

I havent had much time in my shop lately. With a full time job, side business that crazy busy, and night school for my MBA, its been months since i've had any substantial time for woodworking.I've only got 4 weeks left until i graduate, so I'm looking forward to gaining some time back.

I've hard parts cut out for a set of walnut mid century modern end tables sitting on my bench for about 4 months, just waiting for joinery.

Making useful things with your hands is something humans have been doing for a very very long time.

I like to see intricate, finely crafted woodwork but for myself, I prefer simplicity and practicality.

The feeling of completing a project- seeing the results of my labor- is very satisfying to me.

Keep doing what makes you happy.

    Cheers
