Did you look at the fine print for the finance period in months for that 1.9%? If you're going for 60-72 months, that rate usually goes up...be careful so you’re not shocked when they come up with something higher (if you’re looking for a long time finance) even with excellent credit at times.

    1. Inquire online, be polite and genuinely want the car. If a salesperson can tell someone is shopping them, they probably wouldn't reply unless they're new. There is always another dealer going to beat the price by $100.

    2. Invoice = msrp*.9375. I wouldn't push to go deeper than 2500 off of invoice. Dealer holdback is ~2800 on a $40k car. Let them pay their sales person.

    3. Give the salesperson the impression you're going to get financing and back end products, you will get into the finance department very quickly and they will be more willing to go deeper on the price of the vehicle. Also, let the salesperson and sales manager know you are very happy with their service and will give them 10s on the survey. This is extra money in the salesperson pocket and for the dealership. Follow through with this.

    4. Once you get into the finance department, let them know you changed your mind and you don't want the warranty, maintenance etc.

    5. Go early in the morning

That’s who I work with at my dealer. He’s awesome and no haggling bullshit. It is what it is. I paid minimum drive off and my monthly is WAY less on a $40500 truck. They were advertising my monthly payment but with $4000 down. I paid $1800 down.

    Great tip.
