It has bass in all the right places.
The bass is like a small sub in the car. If it was 6x9 in the rear it would be perfect.
I have powerbass front components, stock rear speakers.
The amp cleaned up the sound a lot. Everything was plug and play no cutting or tapping. The tacotune amp adapter even have the blue remote turn on lead. Just have to run a power wire from battery to amp.

Maybe for another $20 more there's the JL audio entry level component speaker set. But then theres the crossover to deal with.

Here's another how to tune amp.
They even have a link to download the test tube frequency.

I'll revive this thread because I just installed these and the 6.5 coax versions in my DCSB with base Entune unit. Definite improvement in clarity over stock; bass is nowhere near as muddy. Happy I went this route so far. I bought on eBay from a seller who accepted a pretty good offer...so that helped put them over another pair of components and dealing with the Metra adapters.

Word of caution though: the tweeters are NOT plug and play as advertised. I had to cut and splice. Also, the crossover solder on one of the tweeters came loose. It was probably my fault.

FWIW, I installed with 80mil Noico and will be adding the ********* 4 channel amp this week, but I don't think the amp is necessary thus far.

Amp should be here tomorrow with the plug-and-play harness, so hopefully I'll have everything installed by the weekend.

Crazy I had these same exact problems. Lol. Although I had ordered through crutchfield. they sent me a replacement tweeter, no questions asked. I have an aftermarket head unit and actually had ro turn sown my highs because they were too much. Otherwise I have been satisfied with the quality

Replaced the OE69C-TY tweeters with some PowerBass S1S 1" silk tweeters (they were only $30 on Amazon and I could make them work with the brackets that came with the components). Also finished installing the plug-and-play ********* 4-channel amp. VERY pleased with the sound at the moment and the install was a breeze. The amp is set at minimum gain and there is a DEFINITE increase in clarity and oomph from each speaker. These OEM replacements aren't beefy, so they're probably well matched at lower gain settings.
