Two West Memphis Police officers slain

(West Memphis 5/20/2010) Brandon Paudert was working with the West Memphis Police Department Drug Interdiction unit and had been with the force 7 years.

Paudert, who was 39, is the son of West Memphis Police Chief Bob Paudert.

Brandon Paudert has three children.

Bill Evans was working with the West Memphis Police Department Drug Interdiction unit and had been with the department 9 years.

Evans has two children.

Evans is the nephew of West Memphis Police Chief Bob Paudert.
The Police Benevolent Foundation, Inc. and the Arkansas Division of the Southern States PBA are in morning this afternoon as two of their own, Officer Brandon Paudert and Officer Bill Evans were shot and killed after making a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in West Memphis.

The Police Benevolent Foundation is in the process of setting up a memorial fund at a West Memphis area bank so that the public can assist in the efforts to provide support to the families of both fallen officers.

Both assailants were later killed in a shootout. The link is to raw video from this afternoon.
Keep the families and the community in prayers. Two other LEO's were also wounded in the shootout.
