Hood scoop light

I’ve been reading a lot on here and have learned a lot in my short time as a new Tacoma owner (2017 TRD Sport). I like the hood scoop light that people have recommended but was unable to find anything on this light. Does anyone have any experience with this or information on how it would compare to the one from ridgid industries? I’m sure you get what you pay for but if the difference isn’t huge I’d rather not spend $400.

 

That’s a pretty cool light. I don’t know much about that one, but many people use the light bars behind the grille and seem to b very happy. But I’m sure they r a little more expensive. Can u adjust the light trajectory? It sits a little higher than most straight ahead lights since it’s up on the hood. I know the ditch lights sit close to the windshield, but they r adjustable I believe. Hopefully someone has this light u posted installed and can speak more on it. Cool idea though. Best of luck and hopefully it works out. Good price if it works out for ya.

I’ve scanned through that thread gearcruncher but didn’t see anything about this specific light. Just how good the ridgid industries one is.

I'm sure you've seen this? He also has a write up on the install. His light was from Rigid Ind. and was $400. I would be skeptical on your $30 light. I sure it will work, but for how long? With the amount of commitment and level of modification required for this mod, do you really want to make permanent modifications to a light that you might not trust and may need to be replaced? I understand $400 is a lot of money for a light, but I would trust it's longevity a lot more than a $30 light. Rigid make quality products, you get what you pay for.

C4Fab used to make a bracket kit but stopped due to low interest. Looking at the amount of threads over the past 2-3 years might be reason enough for them to put out another batch.

 

its a non comparison. they work fine, just reseal them. I have used doz of random ebay/Amazon light bars and all have failed in one way or another. Stopped buying them and just pony up for nicer ones lol. Dont expect them to perform as good as a name brand (Baja Designs, KC, Ridged)

 

Just looking at some of the butchering of the English language in that ad (Luminous flux, Waterproof rate, etc.) is enough to convince me that it's junk. At least I got a good laugh out of it. Oh, and the chances of it actually having CREE LEDs is about zero.
