I did the Tundra caliper swap on my '01 several years ago and noticed no difference in braking ability, and was kind of pissed that I went through all that effort for no difference. When one of the Tundra calipers started sticking I put the stock Tacoma calipers back on with new rotors and EBC pads. No real difference, but it seems to bite a little harder, due to the quality pads. The Tundra brake swap is probably good for hauling a trailer or a heavier loaded down truck, but it didn't offer any benefit for my little single cab.

    Ditto. And thank you.

I’m wiped out. Spent the last two days clearing low branches and removing some dead trees (we’re “blessed” with a couple dozen elms) from my backyard. Most of the time was cutting everything into pieces less than 2’ long for removal purposes.

Throughout all of this, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s hotter than Satan’s ballsack out there.

I believe a nap is in order before the final push to get all those cut branches and stump pieces into the bed of the truck for hauling out to the recycling center where they’ll get turned into free mulch. I’ll then grab some of that mulch for my bushes out front. Circle of life and all that crap.

I wish everyone else a happy Memorial Day, and will be thinking of those I’ve served with who are no longer with us.

Hi all, Been talking to Sohail/ Riz_atx on Instagram and he directed me over to this thread.

In town for a few months @ sheppard AFB. I was trying to meet up with some tacos while I'm in town. My class doesn't start for another week so I'm just trying to fill some time up.

Also last night at around 1800 I saw two 3rd gen's leaving base while I was entering and turning right.

Anyways, hope to meet you all and explore around TX while I'm here.

Welcome! Sheppard’s nowhere near Austin, so that’s one brutal commute! Are you learning to drive them or fix them? Seems like drive is more likely, as enlisted maintainers would be restricted to base until phase 3 (unless you’re cross-training).

We have several meets coming up over the summer, so catch us here or at the Texas Toyota Coalition (TTC) thread. Basically, just stalk @ChadsPride and you’ll know everything that’s going on.

I can bring burgers and stuff, I won't volunteer to cook because I'm not that great of a cook.... I may make you all sick.

    Edit:
Sign me up for 20 burger patties, buns, mayo, ketchup, and mustard.

Based on all the MX officers I’ve known, it seems like an easy course. “Listen to your MSgts, stay out of the crew chiefs’ way, and supply never has the parts you need when you need them so order them ahead of time.” Oh, and the ramp at Al Udeid gets above 145 degrees in August, so everything gets fixed at night or inside. Learn to love Rip Its, because it is the maintainer’s lifeblood.

    Go Air Force!
