I like the fact you did a cut out for the fridge and not one of those fancy slides that drop down.

I just need to bite the bullet and build mine. My drawers are going to be used to organize tools and spares. I'll just carry the camping gear in tubs and duffles.

 

Yeah those slides are really expensive, so I went this route. If I had mad cheddar I might have gotten one of those.

 

You can get them in C and E the only real difference is going to be load carrying capability and sidewall strength and since you won't be doing a ton of rock crawling so to speak the C would be just fine.

 

I don't have mad cheddar either so I'll stick to my coolers!

 

It says no rubber isolators needed. No rubber isolators with your 6112 setup Skip? Do you like your Toytec aluminum top hats? Aside from the bling factor, what’s the benefit?

 

So with the 6112s they don't get you a full 3" of lift so the top hats provide that extra little bit to get you a full 3" of lift. After taking some measurements I would say I got a little over 3". Also there is no rubber bushing where the shock stem goes through and mounts to the top hat to fail, and strength over the stamped sheet metal factory one are 2 benifits. Downside being squeaky. Since now you'll have no rubber isolators on the spring on either the lower perch or the upper perch for the spring when the spring really gets cycled off-roading or bouncing over speed bumps and such they are squeaky. Also eliminating those rubber isolators the spring will be in a rigid mount making it cycle where with stock style mounting the rubber would compress a little before the spring is acted upon (but that is cutting hairs) so a minuscule amt. of performance benefit to that. That being said I have had a lot of vehicles with coilover suspensions that do the same thing and it doesn't really bother me as I know that making a vehicle more performance oriented it's going to make more noise. I dailyed pretty much a race car for a yr so my opinion on noises and ride quality are a little skewed. It's all relative for what you can handle. I think they are worth it especially at the price he is selling them at.

 

that should work VERY well. it takes a bit of measuring for the first cut, but using a circular saw in that way makes for very straight cuts. no matter how steady I think I am, the cuts always turn out somewhat wavy when I freehand it.

What traction boards are you guys using as a cheaper option other than the maxtracs

 

Randy- I initially had my fridge on the PS but found out that you can’t just reach in for stuff in the fridge because the spare tire is in the way. Or when my tailgate AND fold-down table is down, it’s impossible to grab stuff from the fridge unless you climb up onto the tailgate.



Which is why I switched the fridge over to the DS for the easy grab through the open rear Bestop (now cap.) or easier access when tailgate and fold-down table is deployed.


And yeah, that’s @bski22 on the right, getting ready to devour the trail lunch.

I think this trail stop was to fix @Lux ’s DS CV axle that pulled out of his front diff, hence the spare gear oil.

 

Did you have it on a slide? I figured with it slid all the way out it’ll be plenty easy to grab stuff. Plus I’ve got these lanky arms to reach in.

Edit: I was deciding which side to put it on and decided on drivers side, but then proceeded to cut everything for the PS. Whoops.

 

Picked up my 3/16” piece of aluminum for my swingout table. Shoutout to @Darkgoatracer for cutting me off a piece of his leftovers to use. This thing is massive! And surprisingly heavy. Tony for scale.

 

Those Heavy Duty slides are spendy. My fridge is bolted to my plywood bed base, so it stays in the rear DS corner of the bed.

I’m vertically challenged, so I gotta do whatever I can to make access easier

 

I finally settled on a location for my aluminum propane tank. It's gonna reside inside my single jerry can holder.

The swingout will be able to carry the overlanding trifecta: 5 gal water, 5 gal fuel, 6 lbs propane.

Now gotta figure out how to attach a pair of T-bolt circular clamps (thanks for the suggestion @EatSleepTacos !) to the Jerry can.

Only used them once so far. Saved my buddy a 200$ tow bill so I guess they paid for themselves. They take up a lot of real estate in the truck. I have recently removed them from my prinsu so I could install a solar panel. I'm not sure where I will try and mount them now .
