hello all. back in 2009, i made the hard choice between a 1st gen Tacoma SR5 and a 2002 Ford Ranger. i chose the Ranger and have loved every minute of it. we've been through a lot. just thinking about it makes me tear up. but recently we retired our best friend the only way i was able - by keeping it in the family, gifting it to my sister-in-law since she's needed a truck for some time.

taking its place is my first taco, a Black 2016 TRD Off Road DCSB M/T 4x4 that we took delivery of a few weeks ago, a couple months after we placed an order. This thing is an elegant beast. I love driving it so much. such a great M/T shifting experience, such great handling, fun on and off the road. the 2 weekends we've had it, it's been off road in the Sierras and on some rugged roads in the Marin headlands. it gets filthy and doesn't let up. stepping out of the truck after any such drive, i'm thinking "how did it get so dirty?" its like a dinosaur rolling around in the mud. i love it.

we named him Yoshi after the playful dinosaur companion Mario rides around on.

i've been a lurker on these forums for a while and am joining not only to share in our joy, but also because there have been some pesky things i wouldn't mind getting sorted out, preferably with the help of the folks on here.

but i'll keep this first post dedicated to joy. so far, so much fun.

Hey welcome to the fold. By the way Redline tuning struts are doing a Group Buy with 25% off. Its an awesome first mod and not very expensive and it alleviates you having to use the prop bar to keep your hood up ever again. Lots of great users on this site with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I have added iStep running boards, a Bestop rear mounted TrekStep, a BakFlip MX4, a Pop N Lock Power Tailgate Actuator, Chrome tailgate insert letters and MattGekeo LEDs
First time I have seen that I can add struts to the hood, I am interested the next time they go on sale. Looks like an easy and useful addition for certain.
