I think the sides are stainless but the high heat changes the steel a little and makes light rust.

I'm a fan of the homemade drawers. What did you do behind the fridge slide with the dead space?

Thank you! And the whole back half of my platform is a lid, and is one giant compartment. It’s great for all the lose stuff like chairs and cots and stuff. The drawer only goes back half the bed.

Looks like a good way to go, especially with side hatch access.

Exactly! The shell has doors on both sides. It’s a game changer.

How effective are the insulating covers? My Dometic CF50 is usually fine for a few days without the truck running but is struggling down here in the south. It’s in the cab and the temps are getting pretty high with the heat and direct sunlight.

I have one on my cfx50 and it seems to do pretty well. Held 19F in the 90 degree heat during our last ride. Also keeps the fridge cleaner on the outside and has a few pockets to hold stuff and another pocket to hold your usb device of choice while it charges.

I am currently running the cfx50 off of a 12v I installed in the bed and am only using the stock battery. I had plenty of starting power the next morning with the truck off and fridge running for about 14hrs. I am using the mid setting for battery protect.
