Hello All, New to this forum and hope you folks gave give me some insight, looking to buy a used Tacoma Gen2 used to have a T100 years ago and was very happy with that truck (with the exception of the headgasket issue it had, warranty fixed). My mechanic cousin said they also have issues with headgasket?? if so what yrs? What kind of miles should I expect to get from a Tacoma 200,000/300,000? Are there better years within the Gen2's ....? I have always found whenever I am going buy a used vehicle/motorcycle etc.. the best info comes from these forums from the people who own them! Thanks in Advance for your replies!

    Welcome!

I’m no expert, but the biggest issue with 2nd gens is frame rust. There is a lot of info on this site regarding the issue and recalls/undercoating that you should look into.

Yes I’ve seen this too and will be keeping an eye out on the frames when I go to buy
