Hey everyone, are any of you 4 cylinder owners experiencing the howling differential issue? Please let me know with a response thanks! Looking to get an SR soon. Miss my old one. Also, how are you liking the 6auto’s shifting?

It's going to kill me when I have to get rid of my manual, I've had left knee problems for years. I'm looking forward to a 4 cyl with 6-speed auto

Mine is howling also. I have one rear wheel bearing on the way out and the other is just starting to make a little noise too so I have a lot going on back there. Ran it in the air and with a scope I could hear it in the diff. I went ahead and did a service and changed the fluid and no metal came out whatsoever and after almost 90k miles the fluid looked almost new. I think this howl will probably be one of the many worrying noises that this truck will make and keep making for 200k miles with no issue. I use my truck to commute and do not tow anymore, that may change things but I am just gonna let it go and keep checking it at services to see if it is getting worse.

I have a 17 auto upshifts fine. seems to down shift one gear than hold it a bit longer than it should. gets up to 80 mph nicely.
gas mileage high is 21.3 my low is 18.3 3800 miles on truck. I would buy this truck again and again.the best part about truck noene seems to talk about is the handling turning ability.its fun to drive.

Mine 17 has 8200 miles rear started howling at 7k. No leaks. My 10k service is coming up soon so we will see what they do.
One more comment when we drove the truck off the lot my wife commented on how quiet the truck was, and how smooth. No so much now, cab noise is higher along with the whine. But the ride is starting to suck. I guess I will be looking for shocks here soon also.
