I picked up a small trailer that I am currently transforming into a camping rig.
To bad we are in a stage III fire restriction and some of the forest has been closed.

I got the smittybilt during there Christmas sale for 650 shipped. So far couldn’t be more stoked. Have slept in it 15 nights already and haven’t noticed anything bad about it yet. Loving being able to set up camp in 5 minutes A96CA0DC-6FEF-489C-99C4-8E4FC942F2DF.jpg

Ordered my Tepui from REI over the memorial day wknd and knocked off the tax with my dividend so we're pretty excited for it since we get to pick it up from the flagship store tomorrow! Got a Mobtown bed rack on backorder, so it'll have to go on the prinsu while I wait for that.

Southern Utah sure is pretty, but views like this usually come with unrelenting winds throughout the night. Tent did awesome though, we felt much more secure than we ever did in a ground tent.

I am having problems installing rain fly poles on the windows that are close to my truck cab and my arb awning because of it being too close. Has anyone solved this by bending hard angles into rain fly poles? Or any other solution?

I haven't put it on the truck yet, but I got one of these and put a string on it. I put some clear bra on the paint so it won't scratch it, but this was the best solution I've found where I don't have a roof rack. https://www.techtoolsupply.com/Mag-Daddy-Magnetic-Cable-Tie-Mount-16lbs-Blk-10pc-p/mag-62411-10.htm

How do you guys claim your campsites when you're out for the day? I've always just left camp set up, but with a RTT and potentially a slide out kitchen, there isn't much left to leave behind so others know that you're coming back.

A cheesy carabiner with 5/50 cord ran in between the door and pillar secured to the rail of the head rest

Edit: now using these instead of the cheesy carabiner

I would leave a small tent on the ground, this way it shows someone is occupying the site. Leave an old sleeping bag in just in case.

So my mattress totally sucked. I sleep on a tempurpedic at home and the installed foam matress on my Gordi Gear tent wasn't going to cut it. So I ordered 2 different foams, 2 inches of a soft-ish and 1 inch of more firm. I was thinking of progressive dampening... I paid $160 so we will see how it turns out... standby for report.
