I ran across this thread recently. Hopefully someone can benefit from the following information.
The 17" Lexus IS300 wheels were 17x7 and tires were 215/45/17 then switched to 225/45/17.
The 16" Tacoma S-Runner wheels were 16x6.5 and tires were 235/55/16.
The 18" Nissan Maxima wheels were 18x7.5 and tires were 245/40/18.

I then returned back to stock height. I ran a 15" 01-04 5 lug Tacoma wheel on LT215/75/15. They were heavy.

I then found some 14" dealer Enkei wheels which were made exclusively for 97-00 style Tacomas. I am currently running those wheels on 27x8.50r14 tires.

I never sold my Tacoma. I have owned it for 18 years and it currently has 271,000 miles. The Tacoma is still stock.

I know this is an old thread but i just bought a 1997 Black 2.4 extra cab Tacoma. This is my 3rd Tacoma.

I bought a 95.5 new back in 1995 and believe i was a guinea pig for the DJM 3/4 kit way back when. I went through 3 sets of tires and worked with them extensively to get it right. They changed their upper control arms because of it. Anyhow.

I saw a mini trucking magazine with a guy who had a bunch of performance mods and I went to the address.

The place was his personal house. It was Eric Lapke from E.L. prototypes of anyone has heard of them.

I ended up getting his tri-y headers, intake, over bored my throttle body with a new throttle plate, and match ported my intake manifold. Added a shot of 80 now and this thing was fun . I also had clutchmasters build me a custom clutch all before 1998.

Super fun truck . Sold it because i started a family. Miss it a lot so I bought one a few years ago for a work truck and sold it and just bought a 1997 a couple weeks ago. Not going to go too crazy on it but I want to lower it and get some wheels ..

    Here it was.

Hey guys, new to the forum and street taco life. I picked up a Stepside Prerunner a few years back and really wanted to slam it but couldn't put my mind around doing it to a prerunner so I did a 3" lift, lol. Fast forward 2 years, I gave the truck to my parents to drive and picked this up a month ago so I can do a 3/4" drop. Here some progress pics of the past month.

    18x10 +22 fronts / 18x10.5 +15
No rubbing at full lock with 3/4 DJM Kit.

With and without the OEM flares from my prerunner, yup the stepside flares are the same as fleetside. If anybody is interested in the OEM flares, hit me up on IG: Twiggy_rs1, I am working with a shop to remake these in Fiberglass and Carbon Fiber.

Still got a few things to do, roll pan, basic custom bed,s interior work, LED and a livery. Mostly DIY stuff.
