To clarify, there will be no more general releases such as 1.05 as an example that would resolve more general issues like stated by multiple folks? They’d each have to get a custom tune adapted for them?

 

Go back and read my posts. Every time someone even remotely says there is something that they want adjusted you say I'm ignoring problems, ignoring customers, not responding to people, etc.

So go back and read what I've actually said I'm doing.

All I know is my truck runs fantastic, and I work very hard but I get more days off than Mat does!

Just hard to run a US based business while working opposite schedules for a few weeks but he tried to warn, mention, remind many times this was gonna be the deal. Pretty clear expectations that not much aside from reg and tune files would be sent

Just to throw this out there, not everyone in the 2nd half of the 2nd decade of the 21st century is computer literate. I happen to one who is, not an expert by any means but enough to keep me out of trouble. I am unable to read my ecu and after troubleshooting for a week have given up. Checked every possible thing from registry location to drivers to turning every piece of anti-virus, firewall and real time protection off. I had my laptop gone over prior with a new ssd hard drive and more ram. Everything checked out ok. Is it my computer? I don't know but I did pick another laptop up and waiting for the reg file now. I guess what I am getting at is not all people can go that far troubleshooting and my problem is still unknown as of now. This forum is here to help each other is what I thought. And with Matt in Hong Kong and getting people set up why not turn to your fellow OVtuners to try and lend a helping hand and try to keep Matt out of it if we can help for him? I know there has been some bashing on here but we are all relying on a one man show, so why not help each other figure some things out and what we can't take to Matt?

 

If we have 1.04 ecu and no tcu flash does the transmission need to go through the learning process? I have about 40 miles on 1.04 91 and my transmission does not hold gears on the freeway, it’s performing the same way as stock. Thanks!

 

All shift changes, shift rpm / etc is in the main file.

the TCU flash only does a minuscule thing for gears 1/2/3. Which it's being updated for all gears

 

I had that when Windows Defender silently zeroed out the file contents. Be sure you have both real-time and cloud based protection turned off. Plus any other virus protection...

 

Dang it why do I find this info when I can’t get it and am towing across the country.

Despite a 2am flat tire on the trailer, the truck pulled with ease - so much better than before because of the low RPM gains. It stayed in 5th and 6th gear and I didn’t need to use ECT mode.

 

Gotta say, just received the tune file yesterday morning (thanks Mat!), and just got home from a 24 hour shift. So I'll be tackling the final install sometime this morning and I'm a little nervous, given the difficulty a few have experienced, that I'll f*#@ it up, despite how smoothly the first 2 steps have gone! Being a Mac guy, I truly suck at PC/Windows! May the force (and Flash gods!) be with me but I know Mat and several benevolent TW members will be here to help if I get stuck in the mud! Thanks in advance and wish me luck! Let's do this!!! I'll report back...

 

I'm also in IT and willing to help out as I can. We're up to 950+ pages and it's damn near impossible for someone to read through every page looking for troubleshooting steps. I'd suggest we create a different thread for troubleshooting. That way Matt can weed out feedback vs support. Matt should create it so he can manage the first post with top troubleshooting tips/FAQ.

Wondering if anyone can do me a favor by right clicking the tune then going to properties and sending me a picture of the pop up. Trying to figure something out. Thanks

 

can somebody help me catch up. i installed the 1.03 (i think) and i just read there is a 1.05? is that an upgrade? i don't have time to go read the whole thread since i was last here. how can i upgrade? do i need to buy another kit?
