Bought my first Toy and first new car from Longo in El Monte, Ca
1970 Corona MkII - $2450 out the door. Nice ride and stylish for the day. Had a carburetor that actually rattled off the manifold! Replaced the clutch and engine 22R at 60,000 miles.

1966 Land cruiser FJ. Bulletproof over 12 trips to Baja when the road ended at Ensenada and nary a hiccup. but I needed to replace the engine. and my Toyota became my Chevota with a new 323ci/ 8 cyl.
    1989 Camry - meh.It didn't fail me but I just couldn't love it.

1997 Camry - Bought it used from a car rental company. Best vehicle I've ever owned. A bunch of driving AZ dirt roads and kept on ticking but the ground clearance didn't cut it
2012 Pruis C - Leased it when my then current ride ( a used 2000 Explorer) blew it's tranny guts out right in front of a Toyota Dealer. I coasted to a stop right next the curb and walked in and inquired what they might put me in to that day. 2012 Pruis, no down $200/mo lease and they would give me $800 for my Ford. - Advise - Don't lease. They get even at lease-end.

    Now -
I inherited some money and bought my "dream" truck. Paid mostly cash. A Toyota Tacoma. Well maybe not my dream truck but close I thought.

2016 Toyota Tacoma Bare bones 4 cyl 2WD Access cab. I hate car payments. That lasted 4 months. Gutless!!POS

I'd had it . Went to the local Dealer and they only raped me for $8000 trade in on a vehicle with 1900 miles on the ODO.
    Bought -
2016 6 cyl 4X4 TRD Limited with every bell and whistle I could get. Every extended warranty. diamond-coat finish, the works. Finally I thought I had my Last and Final ride.
On the whole - it's doing a yeoman's job and I like it very much.

However - (You knew there was a "However" coming didn't you?)

Voice recognition system is by far - The worst POS ever ever sold. Toyota should be ashamed. Old Navigation maps. Limited vocabulary recognition. Cannot recognize even the simplest sentence construction. If I slow down and carefully enunciate each word, it interrupts me and sez "Sorry- I didn't understand that. Try something like ...yada yada. I lost it today and got very verbally abusive with it (RED microphone display and all.) I think it got scared and dialed a completely foreign phone number when all I waned to do was direct me to a local food market.
My next post will be entitled "Fun with Voice Training"

    Toyota !! Fix this.

Well...welcome to TW, I guess!! Hope you get your issues resolved. It’s a shame what we pay for stuff and the quality we get in return. I recently did a speaker upgrade in my $29k used 2014, the factory speakers are absolutely junk. Just 1 of my new speakers weighed 3 times as much as all 6 of my old speakers.
