Car Porn

Not a common color combination, looks good.

 

Found some old photos (late 90's) of my '69 on the previous owner's Facebook page this morning. Funny thing is, the location is basically where I first spotted it a couple of years before I bought it, when I first started trying to track the owner down.

 

You could fit the front half of the truck in the back half, crazy.

 

Yeah, back when trucks were made for hauling stuff instead of people.
Now it mostly just hauls ass, but I still put it to work now and then. An 8 foot bed is damn handy for plywood, sheetrock, lumber, etc.

 

I used to work in a lumber yard in Saratoga Springs NY that had a barn used for lumber storage. The barn had previously been used to store cars in the winter when the old skinny tire were useless in winter conditions. They would hook the frame and then, using a series of tracks, slide 100+ cars into hanging storage for the winter. Like a meat locker for cars...crazy to see the old tracks 3+ stories up!

 

That would have been awesome to see.

I saw one of those at the junk yard once. I think it had a turbo as well.

 

Was stationed with a guy who had one. He loved it...despite the fact we had to keep giving him rides to work because something always seemed to be broken on it.

 

What is it?

 

I saved my money all summer working in high school to buy a turbo one, and when I had enough, the car wouldn’t start or go into 2nd. I was so disappointed and ended up with a 95 civic 2 door.

 

Isuzu Piazza or Impulse here in the states.
