    What's up, TW!

I recently just made an official account here after following this online open forum community for about two years now.

    *story time*

I first bought my Tacoma from a private seller on March 2017 after about doing a year's worth of research on what kind of vehicle I wanted to purchase. Prior to actually buying the Taco, as some of you may have already figured out, I spent a great amount of time on TW (more on this info later). All the different threads finally led me to decide on purchasing a 2nd GEN 2013 Tacoma, DC TRD Off-Road 4x4. To my surprise, I've actually bought the truck at a fairly low price, at $24,000 for 40k miles from an older gentleman, as opposed to the dealers who were looking to charge 28k+. I believed his story when he told me that it has never been in the mud, and promptly done an undercarriage inspection to further validate that point. Anyways, it has been a little over year since I've owned the truck, and absolutely have no major issues with it. It currently is sitting on a Rough Country leveling/2.5in lift kit (?) with stock UCAs and sitting on 285/70/R17 KO2's *queue rubbing noise* I do plan changing the lift kit with something else because I hear a little squeak at the passenger-side leaf pack, but I have not been driving it in the past nine months.

Going back to the time I spent on TW without being a member... Reading all the different threads and comments led me to believe this open forum community is filled with exceptionally knowledgeable people who are willing to help those who have questions, especially regarding their Tacoma. It is great to see a thriving online community like this, and hope to learn more from everyone else! Oh btw, I can't provide a picture of the Tacoma at this time because I have no photos of it on my phone, and the truck is about 2,000 miles from where I am located :(

    Welcome!

I am running a similar lift and tire size, a small amount of plastic trimming, removal of the front mud flaps and 95% off the rubbing is gone. For the leafs, I carry a can of WD40 and shoot um when they start making noise.

Nice to meet ya. Good job with the substantial $ savings when you purchased your Taco. That's a great way to being your relationship. ha.

We'd make the argument that since you saved that much as purchase time, that's more money for mods, but that's just us.

    Nonetheless, WELCOME to TW!

I am actually going to start with the mods as soon as I get to drive the truck again! The first thing I am about to do is do a 60k maintenance on it, since my wife used the 4x4 quite frequently when she was hauling our belongings across country + during the winter. Then, I am probably going to pick up some of the old Baja TRD wheels with a smaller set tire set to get that extra backspacing clearing, along with getting the TC UCAs (of course, get the truck realigned with that). Eventually, I want to change out the current lift kit because I don't like it (still doing more research on a decent lift kit that is justifiable with what the truck is being used for). And that's when TW comes into play!
