Looking for entry level trails near Los Angeles

    Looking for a trail that is not to difficult, I’m in a stock 4x4 Tacoma.
    That leads to, or has places near, that are camping friendly. Maybe some views or a stream.
    Anywhere within reason of Los Angeles area.
    I have only backpacked-style camped before. Want to try some moderate off roading and camp somewhat close, a few miles, from vehicle.
    By off-roading I mean trails off the paved road with no obstacles or anything that could damage the vehicle.
    Any links, threads, or ideally locations would be appreciated.
