I own a 2016 extra cab, with a 3.5 V6. Love it. It was in an accident in early May and is still in the body shop. They have found slight frame damage and informed me that the frame can not be repaired. By law it needs to be replaced. My question is this; The frame is an assembly with close to 50 parts. Why can't they just replace the damaged section? I was told that if I was to need a frame that it would be on back order for 2 to 3 months.

It would never be as strong if they only replaced one area. You're probably going to want to take that truck directly from the repair shop to the dealership to get another. It'll never be the same again. I would have pushed for a total of it were mine.

Yeah I'm surprised your insurance (or the other guy's insurance) didn't total it.
