Never tried them, but I'd ask about the weight. Some of the aftermarket wheels are heavy and will hit your MPG's. I believe my stock 16" alloy wheels are about 22.5lbs for comparison.

Yes. There was another thread about those replicas. The OEM ones are some of the heaviest wheels Toyota made, something like 28lbs each. The replicas were noticeably heavier making them crazy heavy, which kills power and MPGs. And the savings with going with those Chinese knock offs, were not that great compared to the cheapest online price found for the OEM units.

Not a fan of replica wheels because you can't be sure of the quality. Try to save more money and get the real OEM's.

Wanted to gravedig this thread since it seems an OEM set are hard to find for a decent price now. I'm leaning towards a $600 set on eBay. Opinions seems mixed on these. I have sent a message to several sellers to see if they will give me the weight of the wheel to see how it compares to the original.

    ^Thank you for the links.

They were my number one choice, but now I'm considering some different 17s since some 17" tires I'm looking at are cheaper than the 16".

You might consider the 4Runner TRD SEMA/Pro wheels that are 17x7 and 25lbs.

If the knockoffs are that much heavier and cause mileage drops wouldnt you be better off going with OEM? I mean would you make up the difference in fuel costs eventually? Im not a mathalete so i dont know if you could even consider that.

I'm no mathematician either but I feel like you'd have to run the legs off of the vehicle before they paid for themselves in the weight difference equating to MPG gain when going knockoff vs OEM

Don't get it twisted, I like your thinking!
