Used 2017 Tacoma failed emissions test (26k mi)

pretty sure if he was missing a cat, he'd definitely know it....not only would the truck be loud and obnoxious as all hell, but he'd be throwing at least one or two codes related to the cats and sensors. Unless the PO went through the trouble of putting in an O2 simulator after removing the cat, but I highly doubt it

I am taking the emissions test to get my plates.

I went to the Toyota dealership today(not the used dealer I bought it from). They just told me to drive it more. Pretty sure its gonna fail the test again when I go back next week.

 

These trucks have 4 cats and I think two come after the O2 sensors. I believe some people have removed them to install URD’s pipes without throwing codes. I think.

 

OBD system has to be driven x amount of miles and has to be clear of any codes for two complete thermal cycles. 10 bucks says there was not an issue at all other than just not being driven enough when you went to get her smogged.
