    That's still pretty good, I've seen a lot worse at the very least. :thumbsup:

    The first time I ever changed my own oil was on my 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback... hahaha good times.

    I took the whole "spin the filter down until it touches the seating surface then 1/2 turn more" thing literally, and upon starting the car it straight up fired fresh oil in a perfect 360 degree gush of "OH SHIT STOPSTOPSTOP" :eek::crapstorm:

    I don't make that mistake anymore. I know filters still say "until the gasket touches" but they can eat my ass. I get that chit down hand tight and then 3/4 turn. Never had a problem since, and can always get the filter back off with little fuss.

    My experience with the Toyota filters on my truck has been hand tight and then 1/8th - 1/4 turn. No issues to date.
