Headlight difference

Hi,

Im shopping for a new tacoma. I have seen that the premium package for offroad states "auto headlight" and on toyotas website it claims every 2018 tacoma has auto hi beam. I would assume this means headlights are always on and switch from DRL to headlights based on light and auto high beam would be high to low switching based on reflections at night.

Did I understand the difference>? This will hinge my decision on if premium is worth it.

You can turn the DRL off if you wish. In auto you are correct, at some predetermined light level the headlights turn on. Switch on high beams in auto and they will dim with on coming traffic. There are times with daylight and rain combined, you will have to revert to the old days of twisting the switch!

 

Premium and Tech was well worth it on my truck, love the heated seats and sunroof.
