I wanted to let you know about my set up. I have 2006 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Sport with long bed. I live in Pa, but ordered my lift and all parts from www.trdparts4u.com which is Toyota of Dallas Texas. Shipping was same from any ARB dealer anywhere in US, and I did not have to pay tax. I have Old Man Emu front coilovers with OME886 springs (886 is for heavy front ARB bumper, 885 for normal bumper) I also put the toytec 1/2" spacer (gives extra 3/4" lift) In back, I have Old Man Emu rear shocks, ARB/Daakar leaf springs and 3 degree shims for rear axle. (Do not need drif drop kit because long bed gives less angle on drive shaft.) If you wish to ask me any questions, please feel free to call me at: Rich Beauregard (814) 535-1899 I have had this set up for about 25,000 miles with no problems. Yes I did change my sport wheels to American Eagle 185 rims (always f/s on ebay $480 delivered). I have 305/70/16 Discoverer STT tires. I also have ARB front bumper with 10,000lb winch. You have an awesome set up. Thanks for breaking it down for me. I want to weigh all my options so I don't have to purchase another lift down the road. With 25000 miles under your belt, it sounds like a good choice. How much was your set up if you don't mind me asking?

They also list it with the 885 springs. Note this kit comes with the
if drop listed as: DFK29 Drive Shaft SPACER This comes with the kit, but is not necessary if you get the 3 degree shim kit for rear axle. I have the 3 degree shim kit (Toytech shim kit)

You can also check www.arbusa.com and they can tell you where the closest dealer is to you. But remember, ARB warehouse is in Washington state and if you use a dealer in your state, you have to pay tax.

It all started with me breaking a stock leaf spring and Toyota wanted $621 for the one leaf spring. (That would be $1,242 for both at Toyota) So, At www.trdparts4u.com Both Dakar rear springs with Old man Emu shocks, U-bolts and bushings delivered was only $680

If you really want to go cheap, Buy the Bilstein 5100's for the front and set them to 2.50" and do the work yourself. Rent spring compressors from your local auto parts store and get your money back when you return them. Call your Toyota dealership and tell them your truck rides rough with a heavy load and get 4-pack leaf springs installed for free. Granted, your only getting 2.50" of lift but your only spending $175.

Yes, my son was about 11 years old and helped me put on the ARB bumper/winch set-up. Then when I put on the suspension, he also helped me. My older son was about 13 and did help some, but the younger son seems to like autos and wrenching more.

no hard feelings at all man. I wish my kids could help! my daughter is 5 and spends all her time dressing up like a princess and my 2 year old boy would run off with the tools and try to flush them down the toilet. I can't wait until he and I can hide in the garage from the girls...but until then, I'm paying to have it done. Also, did I mention that I was trying to hide it from my wife. She'll figure it out when she tries to get in next tim.

I have both the 3 degree shim and the spacer kit. Should both not be used?

Thanks. I will only use the shim and see how that goes. I would imagine the alignment won't be affected by adding/removing the spacer.

I put the Toytec Ultimate on my 2010 DC 4x4 and love it. It rides great...little stiffer than stock, but hey, it's a truck. Shouldn't ride like a lexus anyway. I also added the Light Racing UCAs to get the alignment perfectly into spec. Here's a couple pics of my setup:
