3rd generation tacoma lunging and clunking before stopping

    I was told by Toyota that "the lunging and loud clunking is normal characteristc of the vehicle and all of them do that" and I'm suppose to accept that simply because Toyota see it normal.

    How true is that? does your truck do that? does its still do that or evenutually goes away? any harm effect on the truck transmission long term or it's only that annoying feeling and questioning why I spent $40,000 to hear that? sorry lots of questions but appreciate any help

    Have them greese the slip yoke, do the transmission TSBs, and check the tranny for proper fill.

    The rear end clunk and lurch is, unfortunately, fairly common. The greese they have in there from the factory sucks.
