I was shredding papers today and came across this beauty from 2008. Wish we still had the Fremont plant! 3rd Taco I owned. The 3rd Gen is by far my favorite however, by a country mile.

So jealous, I wish I had gotten my window sticker from my 2016. First taco, would have been fun to hold on to and come back to when we're all drivingbeing driven in hover cars.

I recall the graphics and color. It was clean. That was a sweet ride.

Interesting to note. I also kept the ‘12’s sticker. I just have to find it. But the ‘08 OR was $30,000, the ‘12 OR was 35,000, the ‘18 OR’s seem to be going for $39,000. I wouldn’t be surprised, that within 5 years, a standard OR will be around $45,000 :bananadead:

Absolutely. But the norm seems to be that trend of $5,000 every 5 years. I couldn’t find an OR for miles that wasn’t “loaded.” I had to settle for a SR5. But I actually don’t regret it. The 3rd Gen TRAC system is sweet.

Just finding a standard took me about 6 months, and I live in a metro area with about 8 dealerships nearby. It was patience testing for sure

Interesting to note, I looked up the vin and surprisingly it hasn’t been in an accident (reported). And it has 11 records with NHTSA, some were for stickers that were not installed. Weird.

That's $35,700 in today's dollars. But you do get a real clock for that money.

I know I have the sticker for my '09 somewhere around. IIRC, MSRP on that was $26k. MSRP on my '18 TRD OR was $44k. Bit of a step up.

Granted, that '09 was a DCLB SR5 Pre-Runner and my '18 is a TRD OR with the Premium + Tech and some unwanted port/dealer adds.

Luckily my sales guy emailed my window sticker prior to vehicle pick up so I have it saved.

I'm not sure you understand how inflation works. You do realize that the 2018 cost, offset with inflation, is about the same as every Tacoma generation, right?

It gets old hearing people complain about how the price has skyrocketed. It hasn't. Learn to calculate for inflation and you will realize it's the same.

This thread should make everyone appreciate 3rd gen pricing, given inflation you're paying about the same today for a Tacoma as you ever have been yet you're getting a LOT more technology.

So weird to me that, mainly baby boomers, bitch about how expensive stuff is vs "back in my day" and completely gloss over this little thing called inflation lol.

Just look at the 2000 Tacoma access cab posted with MSRP of $24,507... thats $36,375 today. For $36,425 you can get the equivalent brand new 2018 access car TRD offroad. For $50 in REAL money you can go from a 2000 to a 2018, park those next to eachother and tell me you're not getting a LOT more for your money.

Improved frame materials and design, more airbags, touch screen and digital displays, cameras, radar units, ABS/crawl/traction control sensors, about 3 times as many onboard computer circuits, more gears, more power, an exotic fuel injection system with two pumps and twice the injectors, etc etc etc....

Takes some serious entitlement to complain about car prices these days, quite frankly its incredible what you get for your $ vs "back in the day".
