What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I had a YouTube subscriber ask me to do a video on this and thought I would share it here too.

"Jack" when I grew up meant to "mess it up" then later became hijacking hence my witty repartee. I also know the dirty meaning too but I usually won't go there...at least in public.

I got this thing when I bought my truck new. It came with the spare key.
Any one got any idea what it's use is? Thank you!
(Also, it would help me a lot if somebody could help me with a wiring question I have asked here)

I believe that is a plug saver for your tailgate wiring if/when removed. It helps keep moisture and debris out of your rear camera wiring plug if you take your tailgate off for an extended period of time.

 

Your setup looks great! I made a camera rig for my old WRX to hang my cameras off of the side of the body. Just from experience...

If that cable snags anything it will snap the connector off inside the camera. I haven't used mine in ages but you might want to flip it upside down and just correct for that later in your editing software, it'll keep the cable to the inside.

Looks like making a hard-rubber puck that fits your jack to keep from marring things up wouldn't hurt.

 

I was thinking the very same thing.

 

Put on a Bilstein 5100/OME/Dakar lift kit and some 33s. I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to do this in June, but I did. I probably lost five pounds in sweat alone.

I was gonna debadge it but ran out of time/energy.

Now I just gotta figure out where the fuck this weird scraping noise is coming from.

 

Yup! Use that when you remove your Tailgate!

 

That's a terminator for the backup camera in the event you need to remove the tailgate. It protects the cables.

 

Last year, I tried to install the Gibson aftermarket exhaust kit. Gibson however had no idea that although they sold a kit for longbed 2017 Tacoma, that the exhaust would not fit.
I have not checked recently to see if Gibson has rectified this yet.

 

I installed a stainless Gibson on mine 1 year ago with zero issues and it is an awesome exhaust.

Trying to decide if I want to add a basket on top of the kennel once it's done. The kennel itself will be bolted on to the 2nd Gen rail and the side accessory rails (Once the outer shell is in place, adding bins on top of the wheel wells that will tie it to the side rails).

Found this on Kijiji and the kennel's height is just right to work with those lights.

 

It used to come with one but thing thing tore up quick. Over the years I just didn't use it. Haven't really marred up things though either unless it was the bmw/mini lift mounts since they're plastic. Ended up buying a metal puck with insert for that.

I may be mistake but all the fuses under the dash are active with the ignition. You’d have to run power directly from the batter.

The fuses labeled PWR are the 12v cig lighters. They will only be on with the ignition.
