What can I put on my tires to give them a clean look without looking shiny/wet?

Re-wash the tires, and STOP putting on "Tire Shine".

Just wash them and scrub them with a bristle brush to make them clean, and don’t apply any shine or detailer. Simple as that

For some reason these tires turn brown from brake dust a couple days after I wash them if I don’t apply some type of shine.

That’s a chemical in the tire to prolong life and stop cracking, also silicone which is in tire shine can also give that effect. So just clean with soap and water and scrub them.

Oh, and it's "too." Might want to edit the title - we have some grammar Nazis on this site.

    There've been bans over it.

    Not even kidding.

I use Chemical Guys Tire and Trim Gel.
It makes the tires look dark black (like new) but NOT wet.

It holds up pretty well considering I live on a dirt road. I like that its not wet and doesn't fling. I try to let it set overnight when I apply so the dirt doesn't cling to it.

You need to use a soap that has a wax stripping agent in it. Go to chemicalguys.com and they have a chart that shows what soaps are good for what. Pick on that has stripping potential. Note: if you wax your truck, do not let this soap touch any other parts of your truck besides your tires otherwise you will lose your wax/sealant/glaze job. Of the top of my head, I know that their bug/tar soap will strip off anything above the clear coat. It should work for you.

I second this. If you don't use anything, tire bloom is going to kick in and they'll be brown all the time. Get a foam applicator to put it on. They'll look good without the obnoxious shine.

I use Griots Garage Rubber Prep. I think using something that cleans the accumulated grease/oil buildup on the tire will help with the brake dust, at least it does with mine. Then usually one coat of their Rubber Dressing, which leaves it with a satin finish.

I'll give some of these products a try. Thanks
Thanks for the info. Everyone seems to like chemical guys. I believe I'll order all my cleaning products from them.
