Is the ARE Z series still the best?

I’ve been using these for years and always liked them. Before I order one for my new truck I’d like to know if there’s a better option. Truck is a Tacoma double cab 5’ bed. Good ventilation is a must for the dogs. Thanks.

ARE Z series is the closest to an "SUV" look with the nice rear glass. I really like my MX with walk-in for my doggo, she likes looking out the rear door at the car behind me. The extra headroom is a major plus too.

Vented windoors or sliding windows with pet screens are an option on most ARE tops. Ventilation will be comparable for any topper, as long as you do not get the tilt-out only (non-sliding) side windows.

Ok. I think I have to go with the V series to get the sliding windows. Bonus is the V is way cheaper than the Z.

I’ve had a Z Series for a couple of years. Fit and finish, and style, are nice but I’m not crazy about the functionality .... our 5’ beds are small enough without the large liftgate hinges and sloped sides and back windo restricting access and internal space.

I ender up ordering the CX instead. I'm getting the headliner, sliding/tilt front window, dual led rope lights and pet screens. $1,800

I am looking at getting my first canopy. I can't really tell the difference between the CX and the V.
Any chance you can give a small writeup why you went with what you did...and what others you looked at?

The V is the Value learner. The side windows are not recessed like the CX. The CX comes with a fabric liner and its free if ordered this month. The V has no liner but is an option. I chose the CX over the Z mostly because I wanted full slider side windows with pet screens.

Can anyone speak for the quality or structure differences of these?I am on the hunt and have ran across a nice v series with windoors, also found a nice z series but it only has vented windows and I'll have to add roof tracks to the z.I also found a very nice leer 100xr and a cx so I'm torn between them all.I will be running a prinsu and rtt so I was concerned that a v series may not be as strong but its actually the one that has windoors, although I'm not big on the style as they look much less modern than say a leer windoor does.Harder part is theft are all exact same cost with the exception of the z and he wants $200 more than the others I've found.
