Hey guys, I'm looking into a tonneau cover and thought I'd ask the experts for some help!

I'm looking for a locking cover that is waterproof and cannot be easily broken into, so no soft covers. I also need to be able to occasionally load gear on top of the cover. I really like Diamondbacks with the black line-ex coating, but the price tag is a little scary.

Does anyone know of a more economical alternative to a diamondback? (waterproof, lockable, & able to carry gear) (Mine is a short bed)

Anyone that has a diamondback is welcome to share their thoughts/experience

    Thanks!

Switch your truck to a longbed and ill sell it to ya for $400 haha Good luck.. i havent really seen many options for what your looking for with the ruggedness of a Diamondback. I really like mine but it doesnt fit my needs anymore.

I'll get right on that! :sawzall::welder:
So far it looks like my best option is to get one second hand. I've considered making my own but I don't have much experience with sheet metal, plus the cost and time to make my own just makes me want to buy one! If anyone has one within a couple / few hours of Dayton Ohio that wants to sell, PM me! - But please remember my needs listed above

They are pretty much indestructible and no one has anything to compete with it. I had one on my Dodge 2500 and the HD has a 1600lb load rating on top of it. I carried a motorcycle, my patio set, skids of product and all sorts of crap on it. It is bar none the best security for items in

If you think you can fabricate one cheaper you are delusional or the quality will be shit in comparison. If you think you need a Diamondback then only a DB will do.
