    Hi All

    New 2018 OR

I think the speakers are all pretty crappy and need an upgrade.

I was hoping to get some recommendations for speaker systems, and also considerations to keep in mind when deciding upon and installing the new sound system.

I don't know anything about mechanics, so i plan buy the system that I want and then get it professionally installed.

Price wise, I would like something in the middle to upper-middle range of systems. I don't need anything super-high end, but I do want great sound and something that will last for a decade.

The only thing I can keep stock is the subwoofer, because I tend to keep the bass down anyway.

Any and all feedback is appreciated.

What he linked will last just fine. You said you don't need a sub so I think it's perfect.

Check out the audio forum threads, plenty of good suggestions there. I used the services of Mr Marv and very happy with the results. I assume he still offers his services through this forum, it's been a couple years since I installed mine.

What he linked is exactly what I did and I am completely happy with the setup. Luckily Toyota put a decent headunit in the TRD trims.

I did the kicker upgrade. If you're willing to spend 500 to 750 add an amp to it, the kickers can handle power and it is a nice boost in performance. If you're a audiophile or very picky with your ears I would recommend listening to other speakers in person at an audio shop. The kickers are great and better than stock, but I ended up replacing the fronts with JL C2-690tx. Their clarity was better, bass is a little less, but I was after a more precise and full sound. The JLs cost about 2x as much though.

If your gonna spend that kind of cash I would do kicker speaker upgrade, small amp, hideaway sub, and sound deading.

Is this some kind of custom built speakers and amp? I didn't see any branding or anything on the pics.

Yeah. Here's what I got as a response when I emailed them about this a few years ago.

I did the 450Q about 1 1/2 years ago and love it. it was a lot but it changed the entire dynamics of the sound in my truck...I also added sound deadening in the doors, even though Dan at OEM audio said you did not need it with the system..i have the Entune HU
