Yeah I tried that before I mounted the bumper with the 4” coupling. It wasn’t even close to fitting on the bumper. Home Depot has some 6-4” transition pieces on their website might order those and try.

When u say slices, do u mean slices into the coupling so the bracket on the bumper slides into the slices instead of the coupling going over the brackets? If so does the metal ring still fit over it to clamp down on it?

I sliced the rubber coupling so it would fit around the round light frame and in/under the bumper light bracket. The screw tensioning ring barely fit over the coupling there, I might have bought extra rings that where longer..
I also put some slices in the rubber so it would close up behind the light as I screwed down the ring.

Ok I see what u mean now. Man I wish I would have done that before I mounted the bumper. I really don’t want to take it back off!

Just wondering, what size is that LED bar? I thought I read a 20/21" when I originally read all the posts somewhere. Does that sound right?

Has anyone by chance fitted one of the fronts to a 4th Gen 4Runner?

After having the bumper on for almost a year & not notching for the A/C line  I'm having to pull it off for replacement. Guess I should have checked for clearance & not bumped to wall when parking.
while I have it off I'm thinking about cutting the light bar off; has anyone done this? how does it look?
also, what size fog lights fit best 3.5" or 4"?

    Thanks,
    Luke

Here is a pic (not mine) of what it looks like (hope you can see it...)
I'm going to cut mine off tonight & run a light bar in the spot. (I'll post a picture in the next day or so. I cut support plates out and need to weld them on tonight. the stock plates ended up cracking. [IMG]

I got the AC leak last fall. Ended up taking a welding class at my local tech school, just because. Pulled out the AC line and Tig welded it, works fine after a full recharge.
Cut off the little hoop off and welded up my own as my final pet project in the class. It's more of a glorified brush guard, but came out OK. It's a bolt on because I didn't want to grind and burn the powder coat, and have to deal with that after too. The hoop had a lot of rust and these tiny rusted metal balls compressed together on the inside of the hoop.
To notch the bumper I didn't take it off. I drilled a hole where I needed the notch from the outside, working up to 1/2" diameter and worked the drill around. Probably need a new drill bit, but saved me the headache of removing it.

Not sure if it’s been said yet. I got my bumper about 2 weeks ago and they must have been getting complaints or something because there is a hole for the A/C line now. I had 0 trouble with fit of the upper part and a small dent in the hoop but other than that no scratches and very pleased.

I didn’t have the winch in or the lower segment on yet in the photos above but after installing I ran into an issue. Can anyone see something obvious that I’m missing? Can’t seem to get the 2nd half of the bumper to line up with the frame/1st half properly and not sure why. I don’t think the winch has anything to do with it (no where near the lower portion) but said that in case it’s relevant somehow.

Mine doesn’t line up perfect either I had to fiddle with the lower half for a bit to get the holes lined up. An the sway bar mounting bolt I had to make the holes a little larger.

It took me forever to get that section on. Put a jack user it and get it as close as you can. I also used ratchet straps to pull it sideways.

Yup mine similar. Lower section always sucks to put on, but that looks WAY worse than any one I’ve seen.

Bumpers have seen some serious abuse. Also I have used the winch multiple times and have not had any issues. The stock mounting plate is gonna need to be beefed up soon though..
