I can't let the wife know
As title states. I live in Socal and I have a week off in October and plan on heading to Norcal or Oregon for fishing. I won't have a boat or floating device ( maybe I'll get a float tube). Prefer smaller lakes and my truck has 4x4 so dirt roads won't be a problem. I will be going alone and sleeping out of my truck and camping every night. I did try this trip last year and failed on finding good fishing spots. Any advice or IM are welcomed. 20171015_073316.jpg

Let me know if you find anything.
I plan on going in November for thanks giving. Do the exact same thing.
I have a float tube and its great! You don't get the speed/travel distance of a kayak but it's unbelievably peaceful to fish in.
