Can I add more than 1.5 lift on coilovers without blowing them?

I installed these coilovers with 6000 miles on them, drove 1800 miles and both were blown!

Sent back to icon, and they said it was my fault for putting too much preload. I thought with coilovers the suspension is adjustable and I can put 3'' of lift as advertised.

My truck looks terrible with icon's preset setting.

Can I add any more lift or will I be needing to send these in for another rebuild if I dare adjust them?
