For now, just looking for some basic place to exercise my 4x4 system, and get some light exposure to off-roading.

I know about Raush creek, but that is a good 2 hours away.

Any suggestions for places to go? I hear Bucks county is quite nice.

There's also Reading Anthracite. I've never been there, so I can't comment on how it is. Rausch Creek is pretty good, but nowhere near as good as the long-gone Paragon was.

Your asking where to off-road in a major city area? Not much in the NE Philly that I can remember. Go north a little out of the city. Get up into Bucks County somewhere probably.

Haven't lived there for about 15 years, but remember when I was a Marine Recruiter in Philly, worked out of the Cottman Ave strip mall and worked the crap out of North Philly and NE Philly.

I'm really just looking for some suggestions on where to go to exercise the 4x4.

I can't think of any dirt trails or grassy parks.

Where in Bucks County could I go?

I grew up in Bucks......these guys are right, not much to choose from unless you’ve got a friend with a farm.

There are a few places north of like Trenton on the jersey side, forget the names. Guys have mentioned them on here

My hang was the beaches in DE. Not super adventurous as far as 4x4 goes but it’s hard to beat driving right up to the water and whipping out the grill haha

Pine Barrens in NJ is a popular place ... Wharton State Forest. Probably about an hour from you. Check out the NE regional forum, as there always seems to be a few folks going there or looking for a meet up

bunch of stuff - Bro Pro style
On that dirt road map - Burchrunville NW of Phoenixville/Valley Forge - there are a bunch of dirt roads. I know cause we used to drive on them when I was a teenager - used to do all sorts of thing not allowed to do. Get naked, smoke weed even legit 4x4 - fucked up my Jeep a few times rock crawling on some electrical line roads. There's several infrastructure dirt roads (gas lines and electrical) as well not on that map in Chester County due to close proximity to nuclear power plant.

For decent 4x4 - go to the poconos and find fire roads in the state Forrests. You'll have all you can handle and more. Start out easy & end up in mud up to your ass so be prepared.
