I bought one off a member here who was making these a few months back. I hated the plastic box Toyota used.

I wasn't going to say anything, but since it is sold out. . .

The stock mount was crap IMO also. This is what I did:
    IMG_20180423_154013.jpg

I drilled new upper holes in my plate to match the holes from the stock mount.

I then hand formed the plate around the bumper and tossed in two screws on the bottom.

    I'm completely happy with it.

I spoke to both of the two members who were previously producing products and neither indicated they were going to continue to offer something. I have been working on a simple replacement and the snag I ran into was an easy way to get to the back of the bumper cover to attach a nyloc nut to the screw that I have going through the bumper. I wanted a clean solution that was not going to ever rust. This ebay post may be a game changer. I am sure that even though they are out of stock now, they will not be permanently. If I was going to produce this product I would have to charge $18-20 shipping included to make it worth my while. $7 shipped is WAY cheaper and a price I could not compete with. I just do this on the side in my spare and not so spare time. Maybe someone is looking for something made out of aluminum instead of plastic but I am doubting that many people would pay 3X as much for what I have to offer as the plastic plate holder above, when they both do essentially the same thing. Thoughts?

I would have purchased a plastic one if I had found one when I was looking. Mine is powder coated aluminum and fairly stout but for what it does a simple one would work just fine. Heck even 3D printed ones would work well too.

Make sense to me. I would probably do the same thing. Or at least for that price buy it and try it.

Is your plate in the most downward position it can be in? Ideally, I'd be looking for it to be flush with the bumper at the top. It wouldn't bother me if it hangs a little lower. Do you think it's possible with this mount?

ordered, thanks Tacomaworld for spending more of my money. I will add though that the stock license plate holder is pretty tough, Came off a pretty steep angle and plowed some sand with it and it held up just fine. I guess I will see how strong this cheap one is sometime.
