Hello, I am looking for help before I purchase a TRD pro grille for my Tacoma. On the description it says the lettering is installed with provided 3M adhesive tape and I was wondering if all of them require this or if I am being tricked into buying a fake one. Any help is appreciated thanks guys!

I bought a faux TRD Pro grill from eBay ($139). The Toyota letters were separate but it was attached to the grill using screws (supplied). It seems more secure than double sided tape.

I got an OEM grill and the lettering was already attached with 3m tape. If they come separate the grill is probably a knock off. That being said a lot of people say the knock offs are pretty much the same as far as looks go. So really it comes down to saving a few bucks or having OEM.

Mine came with the letters in a separate box. All I had to do was place them into the holes that were already on the grille, and use the supplied tape. Just an extra 2 minutes of effort was all it took.

I purchased the knock off and used epoxy to apply the letters.

that is 100% a fake one. the OEM ones are closer to 400$ (I think I got mine for 388$ on Amazon Prime). you will have to attach the letters with 3M tape on those, or use Epoxy. see this thread for endless information on that grill.

Thanks for the help. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for so I definitely want to get it right. Do you happen to have a link of the OEM one? Also, with the OEM grille the letters should already be attached and not with tape correct?

So long story short, I messed up one of adhesive sticker for the second “T” and have come to find out those are impossible to purchase separately. Any suggestions on how to secure the letter without the provided sticker?

I taped off the “T” and “A” and painted the base black. Also used epoxy in the backs. Awesome.
