    Demand is what drives the price up over book value. Last year I sold my wife's "97 integra GSR for 1.5x book value.

    Nope, its not a 4x4. He was willing to pay the asking price, but it was still way over book value. If you find one at book value, either they are gone before you even have a chance to respond (usually dealers buying) or its in really bad shape. Also, its usually a seller that doesnt really know the value of what they have, like “grandpa’s truck” with super low mileage and garage kept. I have another friend with a 1st gen double cab that people actually stop him on the street to ask if he would sell his truck.
